As Mr. Piatt is the only executive official of any of the steam railroads operating into Salt Lake he was tlie onlv one who received oificial notification notifica-tion that tlie strike had .been called off. Similar notifications are understood to have gone to the executive officers of the various other roads, and these noti-iications noti-iications unquestionably will be communicated com-municated to the operating officials today. to-day. Anticipating tho rescinding of the strike order, all the railroads yesterday lifted the embargoes that had been in effect since early in tlie week. The prospects that the strike order would not become effective did not stop the homeward home-ward rush of tourists, however. Practically Prac-tically every railroad entering Salt Lake -was attaching extra ears to every train yesterday and in some instances it was necessary to run the trains in two sections. sec-tions. vV'ith the lifting of the embargoes embar-goes the normal interchange of freight traffic was renewed. Tho members of the brotherhoods welcomed wel-comed the information that tlie striko order had been rescinded. While prepared pre-pared to obey the call if it came, they welcomed the settlement. Mass meetings meet-ings of the four brotherhoods will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon and at S o'clock tonight at Moose hall, on West Temple street.
