Show BUILDING BOOM ON IN MT. PLEASANT MOUNT PLEASANT, Sept. 2. An unusual building activity has been evidenced evi-denced in Mount Pleasant this summer and more skilled workmen and mechanics mechan-ics are now at work on several large public buildings in course of construction construc-tion than ever before in the city 's history. his-tory. The contract for the Carnegie library, to cost $10,000, was let last week to Bent E. Hansen and John Stanfield and work was immediately begun, with the expectancy of having the building completed com-pleted by January 1, 19-17. . A new L. D. S. church seminary, costing cost-ing $3000, 'is nearing completion and a boys' dormitory is being added to the Wasatch academy buildings at a cost of $8000. A new Presbyterian church and parsonage, par-sonage, to cost $25,000, will go up in the near future. Among the many beautiful new homes which have either just been completed or are now in the course of erection are those of E. W. Wall, Dr. B. R. Johnson, Mrs. Fannie C. Miles, Mrs. Annie D. Candland, Mrs. Lucinda Hicks, Bent R. Hansen and W. K. Petersen. Besides building activities, about two miles of cement sidewalks and curbings have been laid, aggregating more than $75,000 in costs. |
