Show JUDGE C. W. COSBY WATCHING MEXICO Arizona Jurist Says President Has Handled Han-dled Difficulties Wisely, but War Now Seems Inevitable. Although still under the care of a physician, Judge. C. W. Cosby, of one of the superior courts of Arizona, called The Tribune bv telephone last night to ascertain complete information concerning concern-ing the late developments in the Mexican Mexi-can situation. Judge Cosby 's home is at St. Johns, but business interests have made him a frequent visitor to the border territory. He was within a few miles of Columbus on the night Villa made his raid. Judge Cosby said last night that knowing the Mexican temperament as he does, he sees no way out of the present pres-ent situation without war. He said: President Wilson has given the Mexicans every opportunity to take care of the situation without armed assistance from the United States. He has pursued a policy of patience pa-tience and forbearance that is without with-out parallel in the history of relations rela-tions between big and small nations. na-tions. He has made it possible in every way for the Mexican government govern-ment to 'do what was right. And now that the Mexican authorities have neglected or refused this opportunity, op-portunity, there seems to me no course for the presideut to pursue other than one of actual war. |
