Show MORE MONEY NEEDED FOR TRAINING CAMPS Special to The Tribune, WASHINGTON, June 22. Kepro-sentative Kepro-sentative Mavs today received a telegram tele-gram froni the Salt Lake City committee commit-tee which has charge of the proposed training camp at Fort Douglas, urging bim to obtain an adequate appropriation appropria-tion in the pending army bill to provide for instructors anil equipment for 50,000 civilians who are expected to attend the various training camps this fall, including includ-ing the one at Fort Douglas. Mr. Mavs at once conferred with Chairman Hay, who has charge of the army appropriation bill. Mr. Hay 6aid that he would agree to an amendment to the armv bill increasing the amount carried in he bill from $000,000 to $2,-000,000. $2,-000,000. With the increased amount, it is believed, the training camps can be carried on pnecessf ully, even with the expected large increase of civilians in, attendance. |
