Show POSTMASTER ASKS NUMBERING CHANGE Complaint Is Made That Confusion aoid Delay Often Result From present System Used in Streets. The city commission referred to the ! committee of the whole for considera-! considera-! tion yesterday morning a petition sub-! sub-! mitted by Postmaster Noble Warrum and others that correction of faulty street numbers and names of streets be made. The petition points out that faulty numbering of houses and duplication I of names of streets, as well as use of i names giving no hint' of the locality of ' the streets, is confusing both to post-. post-. men and professional men. Difficulty . experienced by physicians in answering , hurried calls has imperiled the lives of : patients in some instances, because of ! the improper numbering of houses and naming of streets, according to the I contention of the petitioners. I The petition sets out that the peti-j peti-j tioners have reason to believe that the i county commissioners will co-operate with the city in revising the system of names and numbers to make it more effective. |
