Show SHIELDS IS BACK FROM CONVENTION Delegate to St. Louis Says President Wilson Ha3 Best Chance in World for Re-election. Dan B. Shields, chairman of the Utah delegation in the Democratic national con vent iou, returned yesterday afternoon, after-noon, feeling certain' that President Wilson will he re-elected. i ' After witnessing the enthusiasm displayed at the Democratic natioua' con veu tion, considering what happened in Chicago, and talking casually with citizens everywhere on mv travels, it seems to me" that' Mr. Wilson has the best chance n the world to be reelected," re-elected," said Mr. .Shields. Like Democratic Committeeman Janie H. Moyle, who returned several days ago, Mr. shields was much impressed im-pressed with the 'enthusiasm at St. Louis and with the remarks of Progressives who visited the St. Louis convention after their own convention in Chicago. Mr. Shields saw Judge Brigham Clepg and Thomas P. Page in St. Louis. They were with the Utah delegates at tlie Progressive convention. conven-tion. Both, he said, remarked favorably upon what thuy heard and saw St. Louis. After the convention, Mr. Shields went to Chicago to transact some business busi-ness and visited in Iowa ou the way home; He was joined by Mrs. Shields, who had been ' visiting her sister in Iowa City. Returning on the same train with them yesterday were Mr. and Mrs.. J. M. Barnes o'f Davis county. Mr. Barnes was one of the delegates to the St. Louis convention. |
