Show ILIEDBMIS SPLENDID SUCCESS Society People Generously Contribute to Fund for War Sufferers. Society yesterday took occasion to pay its homage and tribute to victims of the strife in Europe at the allied bazaar for charity at the Country club in the interests inter-ests of the wounded .soldiers and their dependents. de-pendents. So successful were the advertising adver-tising methods used by the society women wom-en and girls who had the affair in charge that almost before all the -booths were ready in the early afternoon the crowds had begun to assemble. Liberality was the order of the day and tlire was not a booth that will not have contributed a goodly amount to the total of Salt l-ale"s charity for t he soldiers. Nearly al) the countries in the war were represented by booths decorated or arranged ar-ranged in a manner distinctive of the individual in-dividual nationality. Every one of them was ho tii prettily and effectively arranged. ar-ranged. Flags of all the nations were used to add color in the decorations for the ball in the evening. Society turned out in full force for the event. The society girl ticket sellers had been busy and the evening's freshness but served to draw even more people to the festive 'hail. The exact amount of the proceeds of the ball will not be known until some time today, but it is expected that a considerable con-siderable sum will be sent to New York for distribution from there to the helpless help-less ones of Europe. The Country club bazaar was almost an exact duplication of the recent allied bazaar held by tiie most prominent society people of New York City. |
