Show ALTA KOIIIED PREPARES 10 SHIP At the Alta Consolidated property, located lo-cated In the Little Cottonwood district, the winze In No. 2 west drift on. the Brain Assure had reached . a depth of fifty-two feet yesterday. An assay from a five-inch streak of ore in the "bottom of the winze ran $3 gold, 25.5 ounces silver, 15.2 per cent lead and 1;8 per cent copper, or about $28 a ton. There are several smallest streaks of ore In the bottom, and It is believed by the management man-agement that they will unite as depth is attained and make into a payable shoot of ore. The winze is being sunk through the quartzite to the lime on the Brain fissure, fis-sure, and when it reaches the intersection intersec-tion of the contact with the fiussure good results are expected. The flow of water in the winze, which recently caused considerable con-siderable delay, has decreased so that the pump is no longer required, the hoist being able to handle the water easily without interfering with the work of the miners. The drift on the big bedded lode has now advanced eighty-five feet, and for the entire distance the top, bottom and sides are all in ore. As soon as the transportation problem is solved, shipments ship-ments from the bedded lode will begin, and a large tonnage can then be sent out dally from this part of the mine. Teams have finally been engaged to haul the two carloads of accumulated ore to the railroad, and the shipment will go forward as soon as the Salt Lake & Alta railway can furnish a car. |
