Show ESTES WANTS TIME. Case of Doctor Accused or Illegally Selling Sell-ing Drugs Continued. Special to The Tribune. OCDENT. Jan. 31. At tho request of the defendant's attorney, the case of Dr. N. D. JEstes. Indicted by tho grand jury on seven counts Involving the alleged Illegal Il-legal sale and unlawful prescribing of morphine and cocaine, will not be culled until February 14. Dr. Estes was arraigned ar-raigned In Judgo J. A. Howell's court today to-day to plead to tho Indictment, but the defendant's attornoy explained that ho had not yet liad sufficient time to consider con-sider tho charges contained in the truo bill returned yesterday. It lias developed that the morphine and cocaine alleged to have been prescribed by Dr. Estes to Lou Epperson, an habitual drug user, was purchased at tho Tabernacle Taber-nacle pliarmacy. Washington avenue and Twenty-second street, but the flvo bottles of morphlno and five bottles of cocalno taken by J. T. Cole and Guy V. Cahoon from a Western Union messenger boy aro said to liave been bought by Dr. Estes at tho drug storo of A. A. McBrlde. |
