J,, who surrendered to the local police po-lice a few days ago and said he was wanted in his homo city for passing throo forged checks, will depart for his homo probably today or tomorrow, a free man. For almost three ynars Williams trampod from city to city, conscience-stricken conscience-stricken and longing for 'a glimpse of his wife and child. Thursday ne walked into polico headquarters here and told the cnief of detectives he could stand tho mental torturo no longer. Ho was willing to bo taken back to Camden a prisoner and pay tho penalty for his crimes. He wuntod to see his wife and baby, ho said. Last night tho police wero informed from Camdon that Williams had committed com-mitted tho forgeries to which ho had coufessodj but that there was no charge against him, as tho persona on which ho passed tho checks were Mb friends and declined to prosecute him.
