Show MR-. TRAZEP, DENIES. The Tribuno is in receipt of a letter from Mr. Henry Frazor, superintendent of tho Beaver Equitable Co-op store, desiring us to make a correction in the mutter which wc printed conceruing the new polygamous activities of Doctor McGregor, a counselor to tho bishop of tho Beaver East ward. This paper takes plcasuro in setting the matter right upon the word of Mr. Frazer, feeling that he would in no way attempt to mislead us, and recognizing recog-nizing his full right to the correction aud explanation which we make. In our article concerning Doctor McGregor we stated that the doctor was particularly particu-larly attentive to a young lady clerk in tho Co-op store, and that tho superintendent super-intendent of that institution often found her attention monopolized by the polygnmy-loving doctor and counselor, Mr. Frazer declares that he has "never even intimated that hor reward was found in tho doctor-counselor's embrace." em-brace." We know that Mr. Frazer will realize that in such cases a newspapor is bound to depend altogether upon what people of tho neighborhood say; aud wo foel that he will attribute whatever what-ever error was made in this matter to public talk and not to any intent on our part to misrepresent him in any manner whatsoever. Such cases are usually so submerged under secret methods meth-ods that it is indeed wonderful that Tho Tribune has not made a greater number of errors in roporting them than it has done. Wo have drdinnrily been very fortunate in that respect, and where public talk has caused us to commit error, in this caso it is a misfortune, und not the result of a deliberate intention inten-tion to orr. Mr. Frazor 's letter is confined solely to tho named mistake, and ho has not mado any attempt to deny tho report of Doctor McGrogor's new polygamy; from which wo infer that he is of the honest class who do not view these activities with any degree of favor. |
