Show SCIENTIFIC KNOWLEDGE REGARDING THE RAIN 1 "Where did this rain coma from?" was the question addressed to Weather Forecaster R. J. Hyatt yesterday afternoon, after-noon, as the big drops began to pelt the Bldowalk. Dr. Hya'tt did not attempt to parry or evado the questions, as a less competent com-petent observer wodld have done; nor did he reply in vague generalities. Without a moment's hesitation he said; "After years of scientific study and observation of the forces of nature. I feel that I am qualified to enlighten you and I have no hesitation -ln giving you tho assurance, defiant alike ot hostile hos-tile criticism and contradiction, that this rain comes from the clouds." The offices of the weather bureau In the Dooly Block are to be enlarged on July 1 by the addition of two rooms adjoining ad-joining the three already occupied. In the new offices will bo shelving for a great number of glass Jars containing samples of different kinds of weather and a laboratory for mixing them and devising new combinations. Dr. Hyatt says that we aro to have showers and cooler weather. He expects ex-pects both today, but, If not today, they aro sure to come lat.cr- |
