Tho first ordor of business at today's session of tho biennial convention of tho General Federation lf Women's clubs was the report of tho auditing committee Tho report was presented by tho chairman chair-man and unanimously adopted. Forty-four Forty-four Stales and Territories were represented repre-sented on tho committee. Moore, St. Louis: si-corul vice-president. vice-president. May Aldon Ward, Boston; recording re-cording socrotary, Mrs. John D. Sherman, Chicago; corresponding secretary. Miss Louisa B. Poppenbuim, Charleston. S. C. ; treasurer. Mrs. Percy V. Pennybacker, Austin. Tex.; auditor, .Mrs. Sarah H. Kendall, Ken-dall, Washington, D. C. Directors Mrs. Charles A. By tho provisions of a constitutional amendment adoptqd at this convention, tho method of election has been changed, and Instead of the ballots being sent to tho platform to bo counted by the tellers there, ballot boxes woro used. Tho polls wero open, from 1 until 6 p. m. The action token ax a former biennial, provfding that former presidents of tho federation who had served for two terms should become -honorary presidents, and creating those positions, was revoked by a unanimous vote. I A substitute was adopted providing that any former president is ellgtblo to become an honorary president, but that the offices of-fices should bo elective. One of tho principal prin-cipal reasons for this action Is that Mrs. Dlmlcs T. S. Dcnlson, the president, will retire ater having served only one term. |
