Show NATIONAL ATTRIBUTES Features About the Union of Central American States Washington Dec Information ha been received here that the great republics of Central America are about to extend their union so as to give I it all the attributes of a sovereign nation na-tion At present the three countries forming the union Nicaragua Salvador Salva-dor and Honduras have a diet which conducts diplomatic relations with the outer world while each country maintains main-tains its own separate government of internal affairs This has created the I I impression that the greater republic was merely an alliance of three republics repub-lics but not a republic in itself I has lieen the chief cause of trouble in sending ministers from the Upited States to Central America merca In view of this feeling Senor Corea the representative in Washington i of the greater republic writes the secretary I secre-tary of the diet asking for authority to I state that the government was to be I more than an alliance In reply the secretary Mr Mendosa writes to Mr Corea that a complete union is about to be formed I will be no longer a union for diplomatic intercourse only open to the criticism of being an alliance but wilUbe a fusing of all the interests of the several governments into one sovereign sov-ereign state Mr Corea has not been infQrmed as to a detail of this complete com-plete union but he says he believed it will be accomplished by February if not earlier |
