Show BACK FROM STATELINE Mill Will Begin Dropping Stamps By the First of the Month W I B Nichols returned yesterday from Stateline district in Iron county J StateJne district 4 where he has been for the purpose of continuing his investigations into the merits of this promising gold camp from which realities in the shape of gold bullion will soon be finding their way to the market and the mint This is the second visit Mr Nichols has made to the camp and he brought back with him another lot of samples which will be utilized as a checK against former assays and i the results re-sults are satisfactory it is more than likely that he will soon begin active operations thereIn I there-In speaking of the district Mr Nichols I Nich-ols stated that the new Popkee mill with n capacity of treating about 15 tons of ore a day will be sturted up about Jan 1 and he added that the properties on which the company held interests on lease and bonds comprising compris-ing the Creole the Gold Belt and the Ophir were being intelligently dc eloped el-oped the Creole and the Gold Belt 5 showing from three to four feet of an excellent grade of milling ore in their workings while the Ophir is showing up better than ever At the present time onsidorable development de-velopment is in progress rhroughcut the district while Mr Jsustmt who has a lease on the Sunflower up Right Band gulch and across he canyon from the Gold Hill claim has a shipment ship-ment of seven or eight tons of ole which will be marketed soon and which will carry values of 300 ounces silver and 50 m gold to the ton The new mill however by its successor success-or failure will largely decide the fu true of the camp and the first run and cleanup is anxiously looked for bj the mine and claimholders of the camp Mr Nichols is also interested with Jtdge Presley Denny in the Christ inas mine in Lincoln lisrit Beaver county not far from the famous old Rollins mine mention of which was made in these columns a TOAA diys gb The Christmas has all he earmarks of a steady producer and is now being worked by a good force of men During the past six months incrensed tt interest has been manifested m mining in the southern portion of the state and it is more than likely that mining men will soon witness a decided bom I in that portion of the great commonwealth common-wealth of Utah |
