Show West Bountiful Bethany Ihle, Mrs. Clarence Hood and two children. Audrey Jordan is ill. We hope for her speedy recovery. Amy Nelson is recovering at home. The Leland Smith had Thanksgiving dinner at the home of her daughter, Romaine and DeVan Moss in Bountiful. Kent and Beverly Watts from Los Altos, Calif, visited with Mary Watts and the Dan Mitchells, as well as attending the 80th birthday party of Beverly's Be-verly's mother, Zina Selman of American Fork. The Harvey Jeppsons were happy to have a visit from Elva's sister, Nora and Ivan Davis of Shelley, Ida. A niece, Elaine and Paul Miles, also dropped in for visiting. They had their four children with them. The Arthur RicharcKons of Woodhaven spent their Thanksgiving with the Bob Lovelises of Kaysville. Debbie and Steve Bown are enjoying their new home in Bountiful. Esther and lrv. l.ayton. Bud and Helen Layton, and the Dan Mitchells were among those who attended the funeral of brother and uncle Van Clay on Saturday. Last Friday a stork shower was held for Adriana Filipelli by the members of the 7th Ward. She came from Argentina Argenti-na (olive. Kathy Nelson was in charge of the shower. The Paul Buys celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary anniver-sary and spent Thanksgiving with LuEtte Halladay and family in Brigham City. The Buys did enjoy one fun thing for their wedding anniversary. Their son, Keith, got them tickets to a concert to be played play-ed in the manner of the Glen Miller music of days of long ago. The orchestra was made up of students and members of the community. The MIA of the 5th Ward have had a service project of making pies to take to the sick and lonely. The 5th Ward Relief Society party was held Dec. 1 in the 2nd Ward Chapel. There was a dinner and program. The 5th Ward Relief Society officers and teachers will hold their Christmas party with their husband on Dec. 4. It w ill be a progressive dinner. On Dec. 23 Santa Claus will come to the 5th Ward. There will be dinner for everyone. The Dennis DeBoers enjoyed en-joyed a visit from Barbara's brother. Robert and Colleen Bennett w ho came for Thanksgiving Thank-sgiving dinner at Barbara's mother home in the 43rd Ward. The evening of Dec. 3, the Relief Society Stake Board of the West Stake will enjoy a party. They w ill have dinner at the home of Betty and Eugene Salmons. Ben Argyle, son of the Douglas Argyles, came from Wells, Nev. to visit and enjoy the season. By ALICE MITCHELL 295-1156 Thanksgiving is over and Christmas is just a few weeks away. Let us take time to do at least one good deed each day until Christmas. Then the habit will grow and good deeds will become a part of each of us. Families who have people who are ill would greatly appreciate some help in babysitting baby-sitting some of the smaller children. chil-dren. There are older people, some who live alone and others who live with their children, chil-dren, who would be most happy hap-py to have a visit and a goodie. Try to keep a smile and cheery manner about you as you shop, attend public functions func-tions with your families. There are many in the area who have tried to walk in the footsteps of the Christ Child. They have given to many in need. They have gone about it without noise or praise, but have kept on trying to give more. Scout leaders and all of those who teach and work for the boys of the area deserve many orchids and accolades. Lavore Tullis is a man who has quietly gone about trying, in his own way, to lift the standards stan-dards of the cub scouts in his area. Last week he was given the award for being a strong silent leader who had worked in the background for the cub program. prog-ram. He has given some 15 years to this service. His wife Peggy and his family have all been in the shadows helping him. Another leader in the stake has been Ralph McQuiston of the Stone Creek Stake High Council. He has worked quietly quiet-ly but firmly to try to mold better bet-ter men of the future. He, Kari and Kim Byington were also commended at a scout recognition recogni-tion dinner last week. Mary Watts birthday party last Saturday was outstanding. There were representatives from all of her children's families, fami-lies, most of the Dan Mitchell family, and her brothers and sisters-in-law, Orvil and Hazel Watts from Provo; Verdun and Betty Watts from Orem, and Ralph and Ruth Thomson of Salt Lake City. Aria Stevens, Peggy Tullis, Ruby Evans and Ann Peterson spoke in the sacrament meeting meet-ing of the 7th Ward last Sundav bidges live, will be happy to learn that Scott Weight has been called to a mission in Texas. Last Friday the MIA of the entire Stone Creek Stake visited vi-sited the training school in American Fork. They w orked with the students as a service project. The choir of the 7th Ward met last Sunday for their first practice. Lynn Watson is the conductor and he is eager to have those who would like to sing join the group. The 7th Ward is holding two Christmas parties. One will be held for the children and one for the adults. The adult party will be a progressive dinner on Dec. 5. Sundaes will be served back at the church. We express deepest sympathy sym-pathy to the Bob Wrights in the death of their new baby. April Derbidge, daughter of the Grant Derbidge, was graduated gra-duated from Primary and welcomed wel-comed into MIA. Last week the young women of the 43rd Ward here a special missionary spiritual night in the home of Harold and LaRue Hugoe. Gayland Cundick was in charge and led the discussions discus-sions of actual missionary lessons. les-sons. They had dinner and played games and had a slum-berless slum-berless party. The Fackrell Camp of DUP will have their Christmas party with their husbands Dec. 1 1 at the 7th Ward Cultural Hall at 6:30 p.m. The evening will include in-clude a fish fry. The Blazer scouts of the 7th Ward will participate in a special spe-cial Christmas project for their families. The 1st, 7th and 8th ward scouts are combining to make one troop which will carry car-ry the number 109. Kari Byington is over the Santa project in West Bountiful. Bounti-ful. Ivo Eames of Bountiful. The Frank Jensens announce the marriage of their granddaughter. Holly Ann Diet, who will be married in Billings, Mont. They came to Utah for Thanksgiving and an open house for friends and family members here. The Jensens recently returned re-turned from a trip to Bermuda. They enjoyed a ship cruise of the islands. The Jensens spent Thanksgiving in West Bountiful Bounti-ful with guests, grandson Richard Peterson and friend and told, as mothers of their missionaries, how their homes had benefitted by having a missionary mis-sionary in the field. Dave and Shirley White also spoke briefly. Elder Gary Peterson, son of the Gary Petersons, left for his mission last week for the Hawaii Honolulu Mission. The Dell Byingtons were visiting friends in Lava Hot Springs last weekend. A new chapel was dedicated in a ward where they had been active. Mayor and Shirley Secrist were out of town last weekend visiting in Grouse Creek. Nanella Jones came to West Bountiful for a visit but left again for most of the winter.
