A bad conduct discharge dis-charge issued pursuant to a sentence of a general court martial would prohibit the granting of Social Security credits for that period of military service. I would suggest taking your discharge dis-charge papers when you go to file for your monthly benefits. ben-efits. Your husband, if he retires re-tires at age 63 in 1982, would receive 86 percent of his full benefit rate. The full benefit rate will depend on how much be has earned while working in employment covered cov-ered by Social Security. Your husband may obtain a benefit estimate from the local Social Security office. Q. I will be 65 in January, 1982, but I am not eligible for any Social benefits. Can I get any hospital benefits ben-efits under Medicare even if I am not eligible for monthly benefits? W.S. A. You can get hospital insurance in-surance by paying a monthly premium. The basic hospital insurance premium is $89 per month through June 30, 1982. If you purchase hospital insurance you must also enroll en-roll in the medical insurance part of Medicare that covers doctor's services and some other out-of-bospital costs. The basic medical insurance premium is $11 per month through June 30, 1982. You also have the option of enrolling in the medical insurance plan only.
