Show Flood Insurance Coverage Available Property owners in Farm-ington, Farm-ington, Ut. are now eligible to purchase increased flood insurance in-surance coverage. The expanded ex-panded coverage was made possible because of recent action ac-tion by elected officials to safeguard safe-guard property from flooding. That action allows local residents resi-dents to purchase up to $185 ,000 of flood insurance for residences and up to $250,000 of flood insurance for nonresidential non-residential property. IN ADDITION, increased coverage for the contents for residences was raised to a maximum of $60,000 and nonresidential non-residential structures may be insured for up to $100,000. These changes, a part of the National Flood Insurance Program, were announced by the Denver Regional Office of the Federal Emergency Management Man-agement Agency. DURING THE first 30 days of Farmington's participation in this phase of the flood con trol program, insurance coverage cover-age will become effective the day after the purchase of the policy. After the initial 30 day period, the effective date will be five days after the purchase of the policy. However, policies purchased purch-ased in connection with a loan transaction will become effective effec-tive immediately. Further information in-formation on the details of the floor insurance availability may be obtained from any licensed property and casualty insurance agent. Nationally, more than 16,000 communities are participating parti-cipating in the National Flood Insurance Program. About 1.7 million homeowners, renters and business owners are covered co-vered by over 70 billion dollars in insurance.
