Show Symphony Performs No. 1: one of the most familiar of Bach Violin Concerti, Dr. Pack chose this work because of his teaching experience he notes that many students have never been able to see this concerto con-certo performed live. The orchestra performed this in authentic au-thentic edition. BEETHOVEN Symphony No. 5: the early sketches of the Fifth Symphony date from the beginning of the 19th Century, the years which saw the completion com-pletion of the Second Symphony. Sym-phony. By 1805 these sketches had been fashioned into the bulk of the music of the Fifth Symphony as we now know it, and was first performed in Vienna on Dec. 22, 1808. Beethoven's symphonies frequently appeared in pairs, and at this performance No. 5 was partnered by No. 6. These years at the turn of the 19th Century were difficult ones for Beethoven for deafness laid serious hold on him, and certainly cer-tainly by the time of the completion com-pletion of the Fifth Symphony deafness was total. Some of the turbulence and defiance which permeates the Fifth Symphony may be do to this deafness. DR. VAN PACK was born in Utah and grew up in Idaho. He began playing violin at the age of three and a half, under the tutelage of Mischa Poznauski. He has studied with many great teachers and performers. He received his BA and MA from (JSU, and his Phd from BYU. He is employed by the Weber County Schools and teaches at Weber High. He and his wife have two children and live in Ogden. The Bountiful Symphony Orchestra presented a stirring concert Tuesday evening at Bountiful High School. Gordon Gor-don Andres conducted the members. Guest violinist, Dr. Dan Pack, held the attention of the audience while he played Concerto No. 1 A Minor by Bach, supported by the members. mem-bers. The program consisted of the Sand Paper Ballet: contempory composer Leroy Anderson put his work on paper for the sole purpose of entertainment. He uses the sand paper blocks to depict ths soft shoe dance. SCENE DE BALLET: one of the greatest pieces of Peter Llyich Tchaikovsky is the Swan Lake Ballet.
