The band will present their Christmas Christ-mas concert Dec. 16 at 7:30 p.m. On Monday the choral department concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. THE REPUTATION of excellence ex-cellence that the choirs of Viewmont, under the direction of Jeanne McGuire, have obtained is well-known throughout the community and parts of Salt Lake City. Many hours of hard work are put into each concert and show. By the students and Miss McGuire before the desired de-sired sound is achieved. The sophomore boys choir and girls choir learn to read and sing parts. This is a process that continues through junior choir. By the time they reach concert choir, when they are seniors, the sound has matured. ma-tured. THE MADRIGALS have prepared a 30-minute Christmas Christ-mas show which is performed throughout Davis County and Salt Lake City for clubs, wards and other organizations. They will have performed this Christmas show about 30 times before Dec. 22. In the Madrigals, Madrig-als, showmanship as well as a mature and confident sound is stressed. These singers spend long, hard hours to perfect their show. Early morning rehearsals re-hearsals as well as a weekend of hard work were experienced by the Madrigals before the show was performed for the first time. Their efforts have paid off for their show is hard to top. They win over their audience au-dience wherever they perform. per-form. We are extremely proud of our choral department. A re cording of the combined junior and concert choirs can be heard on KSL radio. All who attend will be in for a treat at their coming concert on Monday, Mon-day, and we encourage all to come. WEDNESDAY, a debate meet called the Brine Fly Classic Clas-sic will be held at Viewmont with the band concert being that night at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, the boys basketball team plays South at Viewmont, JV at 5:30 and varisity at 7:30 p.m. The girls basketball team plays at Box Elder. There will be a swim meet at 2:30 p.m. against East at the Bountiful Rec. Center. Friday, Dec. 18, the JV basketball basket-ball team plays at Bonneville at 2:30 p.m. The Viewmont wrestling invitational is scheduled sche-duled for Friday and Saturday, Dec. 18-19. |
