Davis. atmosphere) of the Qrchard-Val Qrchard-Val Verda area. The council is doing its best to represent the area residents, but needs citizen input as to what is really real-ly wanted and needed in terms of community development. THE REVIEW of the proposed prop-osed new zoning ordinance is but one example of how this advisory council is serving the citizens and the county commission. com-mission. Even though the council is only six months old they have been busily engaged in providing teed back to the county planning commission. For example, in September a resolution was passed by the council requesting that county officials pursue enforcement of all ordinances in the Orchard-Val verda area. The council also followed closely the improvements made to the North Canyon Road and those being made to the Val Verda Road. STILL LATER the council requested that the county pro vide a budget of $50,000 for recreational development. Presently no funds or facilities have been allocated for recrea-tion-al development in the Orchard-Val Verda area. These and many other issues will be the focus of the advisory council as they continue con-tinue to work with the planning commission, commented Fisher. Citizen involvement is the only way to go if we want planned community development develop-ment which meets the needs of the residents. Mr. Fisher furth er stated that a fine spirit of cooperation exists between the auvisory council and the Davis County officials which really makes our work and efforts worthwhile. Residents of the Orchard-Val Orchard-Val Verda community should be aware that a proposed new zoning ordinance has been drafted for Davis County. This ordinance could have a decided de-cided impact for good or bad and all residents should be aware of the consequences said Ralph Fisher, chairman of a citizens advisory council. THE PROPOSED changes will (') reduce the number of resit ..lial zones from eight to possibly one or two, (2) eliminate elimin-ate some land uses previously allowed in the county, (3) permit per-mit clustered subdivisions, and (4) allow for planned unit developments. In July of this year, the Davis County Commission appointed a seven member advisory council consisting of representatives from all sections sec-tions of the Orchard-Val Verda rea. The purpose of the council is to advise the county planning plan-ning commission as it relates to the orderly development of the Orchard-Val Verda community. com-munity. PRESENTLY THE advisory council is busy reviewing the proposed zoning ordinance a task which must be completed by the end of December. Area residents are urged to contact the representative nearest them during the remainder of this month if they have concerns con-cerns or questions about this new ordinance.
