Show County Bids Farewell To Job Service FARMINGTON The Davis County Commission closed out its 1980-81 contract with the Job Service last week, bidding farewell to another county-sponsored program hit by budget cuts. THE COMMISSION and the Davis County Office of Employment and Training worked together for several years in sponsoring the program, prog-ram, but agreed to cut funding to the Job Service earlier this year in the w ake of anticipated budget deficits. Representatives of the Utah Department of Employment Security who operate Job Service centers in Bountiful and Layton were not in attendance Tuesday to witness the contract close-out. THE COUNTY'S obligation, obliga-tion, in terms of funding from Oct. 1. 1980 through Sept. 30, 1981, totalled $58,125. slightly less than the anticipated $60,217 budget requested by Job Service. Administrative costs for the program were reduced during the contract year by $2,092. THE CONTRACT was modified mod-ified Sept. 1, 1981 to cover the changes prior to deletion of the program from Davis County. The county commission reviewed re-viewed the contract briefly, then approved the close-out. DAVIS COUNTY will no longer subsidize the Job Service Ser-vice program with monies from the budget-drained general gen-eral fund. |
