Show C Of Seeks New Miss Bountiful'r The sixth annual Miss Bountiful Boun-tiful Area Scholarship Pageant is now being planned and deadline dead-line for the girls to send in their applications will be April 1, 1982, according to Troy Thornton, the executive director. WE ARE encouraging any Bountiful area (North Salt Lake, Woods Cross, West Bountiful, Bountiful, Centerville Center-ville and Farmington) girl who meets the basic requirements to enter the pageant, and try for a scholarship to help finance fi-nance her college career. Highlights of the eligibility requirements include, an entrant en-trant must be a female between the ages of 17 and 26 on Labor Day; a high school graduate, single and never have been married or had a marriage annulled; of good character, and a citizen of the U.S. There is no entrance fee charged, but the girls are responsible for their own wardrobe. THE LOCAL pageant is the first step to the title of Miss America. The winner of the Miss Bountiful Area Scho- laship Pageant, which will be held April 23, in the Viewmont High School auditorium, will go on to the Miss Utah Pageant, which is rated among the top three and one of the largest in the nation. It is held the middle of June and is an official Miss America Pageant preliminary. Our entire pagent is geared to the fact that the Miss America Pageant has the largest private scholarship foundation for women at the local, state and national levels with an excess of two rpillion awarded annually. This materially aids in furthering furth-ering the education of young women in this county, to help them become valued and concerned con-cerned citizens of tomorrow. EVEN THOUGH the pageant is operated on a very limited budget, we try to offer girls as many helps and training train-ing sessions as possible, with emphasis placed on continuing their life's improvements. Furthermore, even those contestants con-testants at the local and state pagents who do not receive scholarships derive great be- nefits from participating lor the standpoint of character development. de-velopment. We are not conducting a "beauty contest." We are conducting con-ducting a scholarship pageant for the smart young women of today who can an will evidence evi-dence good taste in presenting herself to the public in a most becoming'and charming manner.
