Show B&iii By RITA BROWN 295-2790 Has March come in softly like a lamb or like a roaring lion? Everyone is getting out their spring wearing appearal and looking at seed catalogs. Outdoors surely does have all the appearance of Spring. It looked at first that Spring would be delayed but the wind is blowing so it probably means March is really going to come like a lion. Spring will be here and ' everyone can get their planting done. Many a winter-weary person will do some fixing up, repairing or building. March winds are different from winds in other seasons. They whisper about Spring and bring the scent of "Spring being just around the corner." There is a general feeling of renewal this time of year. The life force is awakening, and making people think of growing, grow-ing, growing gardens, growing mentally and growing spiritually. spir-itually. Spring is even a beauti- ' ful word. Just looking at the word seems to be refreshing. The "snowbirds" will soon be returning to their homes. They will be telling about their sun-filled sun-filled days in the south. I wonder won-der will they appreciate the Spring like the people who chose to stay in one place. Here's to Spring, a great time of the year. The birthday corner the first week in March has Melissa - Fluhman, Michael Johnson, Dawna Kelsey, Kristin Pad-ley, Pad-ley, Travis Tucker, Bradley West, Keri Blackham and Kelly Kel-ly Brown. Many happy returns and many more birthdays. Bill and Mary Blackhurst and their son, Bill, and his wife recently returned from Hawaii. They were there for the Hawaiian Open Golf Tournament. Tour-nament. The Special Interest Group of the 4th and 7th wards held their family home evening on Mar. 1 at the home of Thelma Eggett. Hostess was Dorothy Turner. The program was tapes of a speech by Keith Ashton. On Feb. 22 this group gave a farewell potluck dinner for Evelyn Madsen who leaves on her mission to Hawaii. The Young Adults fireside will be held at the Holmes home. Evelyn Madsen, who has been the editor for the 4th ' Ward weekly paper, has done her last edition before she enters en-ters the MTC. Leslie Foy will be the new editor. Wednesday is regular practice prac-tice for the choir. The choir needs our support and singing is the prayer of the soul. Vernon Kuhn was called on a mission from the 36th Ward, before he could go he became ill with pneumonia. He seemed to get well and sailed for Italy, his mission field. He is having a rough time regaining his strength and needs the faith and prayers of his family and friends. Norma Uzelac's mother died last week and Harold Muir's brother fell and was killed. kil-led. Our sincere condolences to these people at this time. |
