Show I ."'".'T,V..;.- I JOHN MARLOWE NIELSOI Subscription Concert Set For Feb. 9th Pro Musica and the Utah Chamber Orchestra combine for their second subscription concert Feb. 9 at First Presbyterian Pre-sbyterian Church at South Temple and "C" Streets in Salt Lake City at 8 p.m. under the direction of John Marlowe Nielson. They will perform Mozart's "Missa Brevis" for solo quartet, chorus and orchestra. OTHER WORKS will include in-clude Verdi's "Stabat Mater" and the Hallelujah chorus from Beethoven's "Mount of Olives." The Utah Chamber Orchestra, directed by Donald Basinger. is comprised of Utah Symphony musicians with John Chatelain as concert-master. concert-master. They will perform the delightful "Canon in D" by Johann Pachelbel. Guest artist for this evening's even-ing's concert will be soprano JoAnn Ottley in a group of solos by Purcell and Schubert. She will be accompanied on the harpsicord bv Philip A. Day. Jr. MRS. OTTLEY will be joined by Russel Harlow, clarinetist, clar-inetist, for Schubert's "Der Hirt auf den Felsen." She is widely noted throughout the west coast and the intermounf , ' tain areas as a poised and moving mov-ing soloist, both on the recital platform and with symphony orchestras. Also featured in the Feb. 9 ; concert will be the men of Pro I Musica. With this tine group. t Mr. Nielson brings back the nostalgic sound of the well-known well-known and beloved U of U men's chorus. The men of Pro Musica have delighted audiences audi-ences everywhere with their tender and appealing folk songs. TICKETS FOR the concert will be sold at the door the evening of the concert. The box office, in the front foyer of the First Presbyterian Church, will open at 7 p.m. the evening of the concert. Concert time is 8 p.m. Late comers will be seated at intermission. inter-mission.
