Show Commission Taking A 'Get Touah' Policy FARMINGTON Davis County Commission is taking on a "get tough" policy about county purchases regardless regard-less of amount where billings bill-ings do not include an original purchase order from the county. THE NEW procedure came to light when the Davis County Commission was presented with three months of bills from a Bountiful auto parts store of which several of the billings did not include purchase orders or signatures authoriz-.ing authoriz-.ing purchase. Comm. Morris F. Swapp said most of the bills were for parts used by the County Fire Department but some did not include signatures or purchase orders. "THIS CONCERNS me." said Comm. Swapp. "These people (store owners) need to be advised of the discrepancies and if they happen again we just won't pay." He then instructed Fire Chief Brent Argyle to take them (bills) back to the store and get signatures and purchase purch-ase orders. CHIEF ARGYLE said the bills for the last three months of 1979 probably came in all at the same time because he (chief) had told the store manager mana-ger that the department had financial problems. "But 1 never told anyone to hold the bills until after the first of the year." he said, grb |
