Show THE OLD buncombe about who will be elected president has started already. al-ready. A fellow goes out for a trip through the states and comes back with the prediction that his favorite will win sure, and yet he probably has not talked with a thousandth part of the voters of these states. Then another fellow makes the trip over about the same ground and he returns with the assurance or show of assurance, that his particular nominee has a cinch. " Of course none of those, nor in fact no one, knows just what the results will be in November, nor can anyone guess even close. : Straw votes, nor anything else, can give an adequate idea as to how the people' will vote five months hence. A lot can happen in that time that may change, the outlook out-look altogether about election time. About the only . thing that; one can fortell now, with any certainty, is that there will be an election in November, Nov-ember, if the old earth is still revolving revol-ving around the sun at that time, and that someone will be elected to the presidency. Meanwhile one might as well keep cool and pass up all the old bunk.1 Montpelier (Idaho) Examiner |
