Show Whitakers called to Salt Lake for funeral rites I'AKOWAN - Mr. and Mrs. Kdison T. Whitaker traveled to Salt Lake on Wed. July 16 to attend funeral services for Ed's brother Kugene Whitaker age 74, who died Sunday in his home. Whitaker was a retired ad- s vertising salesman for the y newspaper agency corporation. 3 He sold advertising for the ,g agency for over 25r years. He was a well known singer in quartets and had sung many times with j tlio Di-seret News Troubadors, y the Swanee Singers and the Erva , Quartet. (j He was born Nov. 24, 1900 in t. Salt Lake City to John Mills and s" Ida Oakley Whitaker. He e married Nellie Woodruff June 20, 1!I2: in the Salt Lake Temple. j Survivors include his wife, 2 . sons and one daughter and 16 j grandchildren. 1 He is also survived by his brother Edison of Parowan and a j sister Mrs. Ida Taylor of Salt g Lake City.. f Funeral services were held 3 Wed. at the East South Temple. Burial was in the Salt Lake Cemetery. j l |
