Show Adam Aranthon Jacobs CLEARFIELD Adam Aranthon Aran-thon Jacobs, and Beth Johnson Jacobs, both 67, passed away Monday, Mon-day, April 4, 1988 near Fayette, Utah of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Adam was born Feb. 10, 1921 in Riverdale, a son of Briant S. and Margaret Bingham Jacobs. Beth was born Dec. 15, 1920 in Ogden, a daughter of Joseph W. and Lucille Ence Johnson. Adam and Beth were married May 25, 1938 in Farmington. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on Oct. 21, 1942. They had lived most of their life in Clearfield.. They were members of the Clearfield 1st LDS Ward. At the time of Adam's death, he was serving serv-ing as High Priest group leader. He had also been stake and ward chorister chor-ister and served in the bishopric. Beth had served in the stake Relief Society and as Relief Society president presi-dent and visiting teacher. They served an LDS Fort Lauderdale, Fla. mission. Adam was a retired salesman and Beth had been a homemaker. Adam was former president of Toastmasters International, former for-mer member of the Clearfield City Planning Commission. He had been a pilot, and was a former mf-mhpr cf tVin rivil Air Pntrn! Johnson Jr., serving an LDS Chicago, Chi-cago, 111. mission and Mrs. Ben (Shirley) Lehrmann, Ogden. Funeral director, Lindquist's Clearfield Mortuary. Bishop David Monson officiated at funeral services April 8. Family prayer was offered by Curtis L. Jacobs; prelude, Randy Gailey; "In The Garden" by Barbara Bar-bara Thurgood; invocation, David H. Jacobs; remarks, Bishop David Monson; tribute to mom, Kaye J. Volk; tribute to dad, Curtis L. Jacobs; musical medley, Janet Ostler; Os-tler; speakers, Glen Winegar and Elder Rex Pinegar; "How Great Thou Art" by Dick Egan; benediction, benedic-tion, Dennis L. Jacobs. Dedication of the graves was by Paul Aranthon Jacobs with interment inter-ment in the Clearfield City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dennis L. Jacobs, Paul Aranthon Jacobs, Curtis Lee Jacobs, L. Wayne Volk, David H. Jacobs, Donald Jacobs, Bingham Jacobs, Eldon Bennett, Brad Jacobs, Dustin W. Volk, Richard Clayson, and Steve Sleenblik. Honorary pallbearers were Elder Michael Jacobs, Elder Matthew Volk, Christopher W. Volk, David W. Volk, Joshua L. Jacobs and Jonathan C. Jacobs. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army. Beth had been a past PTA president presi-dent and served as an election judge. Surviving are their children, De nnis Lynn Jacobs, Bountiful; Paul Aranthon Jacobs, Plain City; Curtis Cur-tis Lee Jacobs, Prescott, Ariz.; Mrs. L. Wayne CKaye) Volk, Syracuse; Syra-cuse; and 15 grandchildren and tv,o great-grandchildren. Adam is survivied by four brothers and one sister, Bingham Jacobs, Salt Lake City; Chariton Jacobs, serving an LDS England mission; Donald Jacobs, Yuma, Ariz.; David Jacobs, Ogden; Mrs. Eldon (Elsie) Bennett, Cleaifield. Beth is survived by two brothers and three sisters, Dean K. Johnson, John-son, Mrs. Bill (Amy) Thomas and Jean Blair, all of Layton; Joseph |
