District award of Merit was presented to Orville F. Cattoon who has 10 years of continuous service and is still working. He worked as Asst. Scoutmaster, Scout-master, Cubmaster, Scoutmaster, Dist. Scout Chairman, Dist. Commissioner and sometimes held more than one poisiton. Randy Merrill has HVi years of service as Jr. Asst. Scoutmaster, Asst. Scoutmaster, Scoutmaster, Scout Trainer, Round Table Commissioner, Neighborhood Commissioner and District Scout Commissioner. The award of merit was presented to James M. Lee who has 24 years in scouting as a boy and an adult. His service included swimming instructor, life saving instructor, Round Table Asst. Commissioner, Scoutmaster training courses, Dist. Chairman of Scouting and Scoutmaster. John H. Smith has 12 years in scouting. He has had several positions in scouting. His best memories are of his Explorer leading and working with the boys directly. Twenty of John's 21 boys became Eagle Scouts. Tom Howells received his wood badge beads from his wood badge trainer, Chuck Loveless. A District Round Table will be held April 17, 7:30 p.m. at the Ashley Stake Center for everyone involved in scouting in Vernal. |
