Show L Manila Clara Robinson Phone 784-3463 Manila holds Junior Prom King and queen for the Manila Junior Prom held March 28, at the Manila High School were Kevin Slaugh and Carma Sadlier. The first attendants were Stephanie Schofield and Curt Reed and second attendants Kristee Briggs and Neal Lamb. The Junior class motto this year is "Climbing the stairway to Success". They used this in their decoration with the theme "Stairway to Success' on a white star studded background in front of a silvery stairway wreathed in clouds and simulated fog. The hall was draped with white and blue streamers. Some of the blue streamers were star studded. A huge blue paper ball hung from the center of the room. The background for the orchestra was dark blue with stars. Silver stars hung from the paper streamers in front of the orchestra and out into the tunnel entrance which was already star spangled. A lattice fence surrounded the silver stairway area. Guest tables held a few roses centered near the orchestra. Decorated cakes and punch were served. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan East are back in Manila after spending the winter near Las Vegas, Nevada. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Larsen are parents of a daughter born at the Sweetwater Memorial Hospital in Rock Springs, Wyoming on March 27. The little lit-tle girl was 19 inches in length and weighed 7 pounds and 9 ounces at birth. She will be named Amber Lynn. Her maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Allan Pallesen of Dutch John, paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Donald Larsen of Manila. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Iversnn have mnuBfflai returned from their winter vacation in Yuma, Arizona. They visited Old Mexico Mex-ico a few times this winter. Dr. Jim Van Slooten, chiropractor from Salt Lake City was taking patients at the senior citizen center in Manila Friday evening and Saturday until 2 p.m. Senior citizen's enjoyed a fish dinner at the senior citizen center, Saturday night. After dinner they played bingo with each person contributing a white elephant item for a prize. The next dinner din-ner will be April 12. Mrs. Charles Murphy Mur-phy is expected to present a travelogue with slides she took this past summer in Switzerland, Rome and Greece. ' - Ben Stockwell, 4-H advisor for Sweetwater County, met with the Lucerne Valley 4-H sheep and pig project pro-ject members at the Manila High School at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 26.
