Show Utah Gas gets tentative rate increase The average residential customer of Utah Gas Service Co. will pay $67.03 more in the coming year as a result of a rate increase tentatively approved by the Public Service Commission. The PSC authorized the company to start collecting a $1,043,810 or 13.82 percent, pass-through rate increase April 1. The commission will hold a public hearing April 23 to determine if the increase is fully justified. Utah Gas sells natural gas in Daggett, Uintah, Grand and San Juan counties. The utility says it needs the rate increase because its interstate supplier, Northwest Pipeline Corp., is raising its prices, largely due, in turn, to increases in the cost of the Canadian gas Northwest buys. |
