Show Equipment seminar scheduled The Vernal unit of the Utah National Guard in cooperation with Uintah County and Uintah School District is sponsoring a heavy equipment operators seminar April 8 and 9. Five pieces of heavy equipment including in-cluding loader, truck and cat along with instructors will be provided by the National Guard. Instructions on maintenance, safety and operation will be given to students preferably 17 to 25 years of age. Uintah County is providing the training site and Uintah School District will arrange to give students time off from regular school to attend the seminar, reported Lt. Kenneth Fisher, commanding officer of the Vernal Guard unit. The heavy equipment seminar is to familiarize local operators, and those who desire to become operators, with the basics needed to handle large equipment. A shortage of equipment operators exists in this area and the National Guard desires to help provide vital training necessary in this field, explained Lt. Fisher. Those desiring to attend the seminar should call the local Guard Armory or contact Philip Ellis at the Uintah School District board office. |
