The home instruc- UHS student receives 4-year tuition at USU Jolynn Jackson, Vernal, has been awarded the Presidential Scholarship at Utah State University, USU President Stanford Cazier announced. The award is one of 14 given statewide. It will be presented at Uintah High School's awards assembly this spring. The prestigious scholarship carries a I four-year tuition waiver at Utah State. ' To be considered for the award, a student must have maintained a 3.98 or better grade point average throughout high school and have extremely high American College Testing (ACT) J ! scores. Also considered by the scholarship committee are a student's school 1 achievements and the recommendations recom-mendations of school principal and counselor. Miss Jackson has been involved in many organizations while attending Uintah High School. During her junior j ,r year, she was vice president of the ,1 ,.. Speech and Debate Club, a member of . , the Acapella Choir, Dance Club, yearbook staff, and was voted Prom ' Queen at the Junior Prom. She is currently dance club president, a member of the drill team, secretary of the Seminary Council, was voted first attendant in the Homecoming Royalty last fall and was nominated by the f faculty to be a member of the "Gifted and Talented," a program that I provides special educational activities. s She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. !
