Show Bloodmobile to be at Armory April 7 The American Red Cross blood-mobile blood-mobile will be in Vernal Monday, April 7. Donors are invited to the National Na-tional Guard Armory from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. The blood program, conducted in the area for many years, is a valuable asset to residents in this community, said Neil Deets, program director for the area. The only requirement for blood to be provided when a local resident is hospitalized is to have the patient or family member request of the hospital that the blood be obtained from the Red Cross. Donors can replace the blood in the name of the recipient the next time the bloodmobile is in the area. The bloodmobile makes three visits per year, and it will be in Vernal on April 7, July 14 and December 15. "The last visit was very successful," Deets said. "The December visit received 122 units of blood which is about the amount needed to maintain the blood services." A person must be eighteen years old or have parental consent before donating blood. Forms for parental consent con-sent will be available at the Armory. "Many dedicated people are involved in this project," Deets said, naming the Kiwanians, the Nurses Association, the National Guard and numerous individuals. in-dividuals. "These many hours of volunteer services ser-vices makes the program a success," Deets concluded. |
