Show Dutch John 1 June Schaffran I Phone 885-3728 J Easter egg hunt this Saturday The annual CRSP East Egg Hunt for the children of Dutch John will be held Saturday, April 5 at 11 a.m. at the Flaming Gorge Elementary School. All children are to meet at the gym door. There will be four age groups with two prizes for each group. After the egg hunt, the movie "Bambie" will be shown. Popcorn will be served during the movie. Mr. and Mrs. Garn Anderson and family spent Wednesday and Thursday of last week in Vernal attending the funeral of Carolyn's mother, Mrs. Reba Timothy. A baby shower was given for June Schaffran and son, Neal at the home of Kathie Meinrod, Thursday, March 27. Hostesses were Jackie Schmidt, Ann Yates, Becky Kramer, Evelyn Lund and Kathie Meinrod. Prizes during the evening were won by Marsha Barber and JoAnn Pederson. Ice on the Flaming Gorge Reservoir is expected to be out by this weekend. Boats will be able to be launched from Lucerne, Sheep Creek, Cedar Springs, Mustang and Antelope boat ramps. The Flaming Gorge Lodge, store and cafe will be opening for the summer season April 5. Their hours will be from 8a.m.until8p.m. The Dutch John store and cafe will be opening also for the summer season on Monday, April 7. Store and cafe hours will be from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday thru Saturday. Couples pinocle was held Monday, March 24 at the town conference hall. Host and hostesses for the evening wore Ray and Al Charetle, Eleen Williams and Karla Miner. Women's high scorer was Kathie Meinrod with 322U, men's high scorer was Jim Peterson w ith 40-10, women's low went to Dorothy Simpson while men's low went to Bob Simpson. Traveling prizes went to Donna C'ollett and Carl Ray Collett. Dutch John wrestlers, Kevin and Mike Nicotera, Troy Gale, Andy and Brant Meinrod participated in the Regional Freestyle Wrestling Tournament Tourna-ment held at Vernal Jr. High, Saturday, March 29. Andy Meinrod, intermediate 112 and Brant Meinrod, junior 75 were awarded bronze medals and qualified for the state tournament to be held in Salt Lake .City on Saturday, April 12. Mike Nicotesa and Troy Gale also qualified for the state tournament. A dinner for the Dutch John coaches, Joe Nicotera and Doug Dunn was held after the tournament tour-nament at the Diamond Hills Restaraunt in Vernal. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Nicotera, Kevin and Mike, Mr. and Mrs. Doug Dunn, Mr. and Mrs. Floyde Gale, Denise and Troy and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Meinrod, Andy and Brant were all present. Mrs. Mike McKee's son, blessed and named by his great grandfather, Harvey McKee from Macser, Ut. Mr. and Mrs. Blake Rasmussen's daughter blessed and named, Vanessa Darlene by her father. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Rich's daughter was named Amy Dee by her father. Mrs. Vergil Barney and her son, Terry and family from Salt Uike City came to see the Elvin Kettle baby blessed and named Brett, by his father. Mrs. Barney is the grandmother. Out of town guests that came for the wedding reception of Derk and Tonl Eldredgc were Mr. and Mrs. Dunne Wimmcr and Kelly and Nancy Mitchell from Moab, and Mr. and Mrs. Steven Eldredge and Pam and Mark from Provo. They stayed at the Melha Eldredge home while here. Mr. and Mrs. Ilcbcr Rasmussen and 4 sons spent the weekend in Provo, where they met Ruth's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ifoganson from Idaho at their sons home. They all celebrated Mr. Hoganson's 7-llh birthday. |
