Show Fort Duchesne EMT Course The second Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) class conducted at Fort Duchesne was completed Aug. 8. Although the class was very small in numbers, the participants were all interested and eager to learn. Of those who finished the course, four of them, upon certification from the state, can potentially be available to help as volunteers on the Ute Tribe Ambulance to alleviate the frequent shortages of personnel during hours other than the times someone is on duty in the EMT office. The students who took the final Written and practical tests Saturday were Leo Tapoof, Ed Secakuku and Kirby Arrive, all of the Fort Duchesne area; Glen Wright of Lapoint, Joyce Smuin of Gusher and Bobbie Smith of Duchesne. The addition of new EMT's into the Basin area is always welcome to provide more trained people who can help in case of any emergency medical situation. |
