Show Ballard I Telintha Rasmussen I Two new wells in Ballard area Two more oil wells are being set up in the Ballard area. An oil well is being set up on the old Weiz farm and one in North Ballard on the old LaBeau farm in the same section where the Kay Clowards live. Mr. and Mrs. Steve Echoes and baby have moved to Las Vegas to live. Some people from Vernal have rented their home in Gusher. Bill Carter of Montrose, Colorado is visiting his sister Violet Butcher for two weeks. He brought his niece Reana Ferguson with him. Harvey S. and Connie T. Francis were visiting at the Telintha Rasmussen home. They were from Salt Lake City and came to attend the Union High School 1955 graduating class reunion held at the Moon Lake building Monday, Aug. 10. Connie is the daughter of Earl Timothy and grew up in Roosevelt. Mr. and Mrs. Ron Asay have a new son born July 14 in the University Hospital in Salt Lake City. He weighed 6 lbs. 1 oz and was named Wilby Lee. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. La Veil Asay and Mr. and Mrs. Walt Bonny of Bridgeland. Great grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Zane Asay, Ballard, who are presently serving an LDS mission in the Samoa Islands. The Buzz Larson family had a family reunion at Paradise Park last Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Larry and Laraine Crowl were in charge and many fun activities were held. About 65 attended. . Visitors from Salt Lake City at the Telintha Rasmussen home Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Val Timothy. They were here for the 1951 graduating class reunion from the Duchesne High School. They had lunch at the park in Roosevelt. Dinner in the evening at the Cow Palace and went to the Senior Citizens dance at the old stake house in Roosevelt. The reunion was held Saturday. The Ballard Town meeting will be held Aug. 13 in the town building. Town business will be discussed and different people will be selected to run for mayor in the November election. Mayor Karl Shisler is retiring after eight years as mayor. |
