Show George D. Durrant fireside speaker George D. Durrant will be the guest speaef at a tri-stake fireside spon-sS spon-sS by the youth of the Vernal Utah LDS Ashley Stake. According to the youth committee Jeff Drollinger, Sherne Bowden, Mark 5onWSdMareieMcNeill.thef.res.de will be held August 19 at 7: 30 p.m. in the Vernal Junior High auditorium. George Durrant currently serves as the Director of Priesthood Genealogy in the Genealogical Department of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He also serves as a regional representative. He was born and raised in American Fork He later attended Brigham Young University where he received his B.S., M.S. and D. Ed. degrees. He served a mission for the LDS Church in England and was also in the United States Army for two years, during which time he served in Korea. Professionally, Mr. Durrant began his career as a seminary teacher in Brigham City. He spent two years in Brigham City as principal of the Indian School. He then became a curriculum writer for the Indians, writing some 200 filmstrips to be used in instructing Indians in the seminary program.
