Childs, Lady Macbeth by Sheila Cook, Banquo 1-1' by Shaylene Schurz, witches by Tawnya Ream, Maureen Huberand Charmian Haws, King Dun can by Meri Kay Reynolds, Guards by Brandi Clark and Tami Valora, Murderers by Yvonne Heap and Mindy Valora, Fleance by Christy Valora, Macduff by Emily Bessinger and Chambermaid by Denise Henline. 5 i, ji;! The Brown Baggers, a group s ": nine year olds and up, take their ! ,'nclws and listen to stories and participate par-ticipate in activities. They listened to lakespear's "Macbeth" and then ined in acting it out. They decided to resent it to the younger children and . i; parents. Melody Jordon, who has '! i a special CETAgrant to help on l ihildren's programs, took charge and i pade beautiful costumes out of old jjrtains and set up practices for those -.ito wanted to participate. The play was presented to story hour Tuesday afternoon and to the parents the evening of Aug. 11. Other activities the children enjoyed . were a history of mime with Ana Kecse in white face demonstrating and with kids joining in. The kids danced folk dances led by Evan Baker who has participated in folk dance at BYU. Medevial culture was demoastrated with a sword fight by John Craig and Riley Stephenson in actual medevial costumes. Melody Jordon and Sherri Contour dressed in costume and told medevial customs and served homemade bread made from a special recipe along with other goodies of the period. The children played charades and listened to stories by Edgar Alen Poe and other great authors. Doris Burton, library director, stated, "This experience with Macbeth is something the kids will always remember and hopefully when they study Shakespear in school this will give them the desire to want to learn about his other works." |
