Show Flaming Gorge visitors watch stars Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area, with its many acres of forests, lakes, mountains and streams, attracts all kinds of visitors who enjoy the physical beauty of the land. Of all the spectacular natural features available in our National Forests, perhaps the one most often taken for granted is the vividness of the star filled heavens. With the object of creating a greater public awareness towards our universe, an amateur group from California known as the "San Francisco Fran-cisco Sidewalk Astronomers" was formed. While on tour through some of our country's major National Forests and Parks, they are helping to spread information about, along with an appreciation ap-preciation of astronomy to the public. The group travels in a camper-trailer, camper-trailer, carrying with them half a dozen large telescopes for evening use and one solar scope for day time observation ob-servation of sun spot activity.
