Ladies net honors at UBIC meet Thirty women from Vernal and Roosevelt took part in the L'HIC gulf tournament in Roosevelt, August 5 and nabbing first place in the A flight net was Gerrie Buckalew at 71. Virginia Garner placed second at 72 and Hetty Hart nabbed first place in the A flight gross with a score of 86. Helen Melton and Virginia Ferguson tied for second place at 92. Lucille Phillips captured first place in the B flight at 102 and Klaine Gurr collected second place at 10T. Gurr had a 13 on number seven and went out of bounds seven times. Also taking part in the tournament, but not placing were Fran Clark. Betty Murray, Linda Hart and Linda Floyd. The next Ladies Golf Association meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 19 at the pro shop at 12 noon All ladies are invited to attend. The play of the day, August 5 was most Ixigcys, which was won by Buckalew.
