The Cardinals captured first place in the Bronco League with an 11-1 record and the team posted their final win, Thursday by the score of 16 to 0 in a game with the Pirates. A 4-0 lead was grabbed by the Cardinals in the bottom of the first inning. Chris Labrum, Dustin Henline and Steve Hacking were walked and John Mead singled. Labrum, Henline, Hacking and Mead scored to give the Cardinals a four run advantage. Two runs were scored by the Cardinals in the bottom of the second inning' for a 6-0 lead. Andy Allred singled and netted a base hit. Both runners stomped on home plate for runs number five and six. The Cardinals added four runs in the bottom of the third inning for a 10-0 lead. John Silcox, Jared Taylor and Blaine Robbins were walked. Labrum and Henline singled. Silcox, Taylor, Robbins and Labrum scored counters for the Cardinals. One run was scored by the Cardinals in the bottom of the fourth inning. Hacking, Silcox and Ben Taylor singled. Hacking scored to give the Cardinals a 11-0 lead. The Cardinals pocketed five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning for a 16-0 advantage. Labrum, Henline and Hacking netted walks. Silcox got on the base paths and Charlie Hodgkinson singled. Courtney Pederson singled and Shannon Sawyer was walked.
