Show Fireworks cause six fires The Uintah County Fire Department responded to six fires caused by fireworks during the July 4 and 5 weekend. The largest of the six fires was at the Penny Foote residence, 1433 East 1000 South. The fire occurred at 8:23 p.m. July 5 and caused $25,000 in damages to the building. Firemen reported the cause of the fire was fireworks. The fire department also responded to several grass fires ignited by fireworks. July 4 a fire occurred on BLM land at 10:45 p.m. The fire was started by adults playing with fireworks. At 11:30 p.m. July 4 firemen responded to a grass fire at 650 North 100 West. Owner of the property is Ralph Siddoway. Other grass fires reported by the fire department July 4 were two at Air Village Hills and one along the county roadway in Naples City, 3500 South 1500 East. Only minor damages were caused by the grass fires. |
