Show TRAVELING UTES LOSE FIVE TILTS Uintah High School hoopsters, spanked in five straight games during their barnstorming tour into Central Utah, arrived home late Tuesday and started working Wednesday to strenghen the weaknesses uncovered during the disastrous series. Despite the losses, the Utes still carry hopes for a Uintah Basin League title and have their sights on the Jan. 3 opener against Tabiona here. The locals lost last Thursday's tilt to Judge Memorial High School of Salt Lake City, 26-21, in a nip-and-tuck game which saw the Judge Memorial club clinging to a four or five point lead all the way. Sam Snyder tanked 11 points for scoring honors. Lincoln High School trounced the locals 45-16 in the Friday tilt at Orem by taking advantage of sloppy Uintah High School play during the first half. The locals made only five points during the first period. Brigham Young High School at Provo got hot in the third period after both teams played erratic ball during the first half. The BY Wildcats had a 10-7 lead at halftime then ran wild in the third period to win the game. Monday's game at Park City saw the locals playing listless ball in the first period and trailing, 16-9, at the halftime. Snyder, Robert Williams and Floyd Wilkins looked best for the locals ? Coach Frank Wright shifted his lineup i- in the Park City game to put Ralph I Bryson and Ernest Weeks at guards, Synder and Williams at forwards, and ' Wilkins at center, and reports that ' team looked best on the tour. s j.
