Show CLIFF MEMMOTT, Editor WE MUST USE POLIO VACCINE, OR TAKE CHANCE OF LOSING IT TO OTHER AREAS. . . . State and local' health officers encourage the public to take advantage of poliomyelitis immunization. The vaccine has proved effective in reducing the incidence of polio. Present vaccine is known to be safe and free from side effects'. The U. S. Public Health Service is furnishing the' vaccine to local doctors to use. The' vaccine is free, although a small charge is made for administering the shots. It is available from your doctor to all children from birth to ten years of age and to expectant mothers'. At present Duchesne Du-chesne County is not using it's whole allocation, and as a result, re-sult, other areas are getting vaccine' that should be available for our citizens. Furthermore, it has been necessary for the doctors to return .some of the vaccine because it has become outdated. Anyone desiring immunizations, contact your physician physi-cian as soon as possible. FAITH IN PEOPLE REAFFIRMED Every once in a while something happens that reaffirms one's faith in his fellow man and makes you glad to live among sincere, honest and understanding people. . . Last week, (Tuesday, Jan. 3rd to be exact), Joe Malnar came into my office with a wallet he had found a few minutes earlier on Roosevelt Main Street In the wallet was $80.00 in currency;, a slug of photographs and a Social So-cial Security card. . . Acting on the advice of Joe', we fixed up an ad and' inserted in the Standard's classified page, and by 10 ajn. Friday morning, Jan. 6, the owner who lives in Ft. Duchesne, had read the ad and was at the office' to identify her wallet. . . We nominate JOE MALNAR of Neola as the "Honest Man of The' Week," and commend him for returning a wallet that contained all the money a young wife had, whose husband is in the service. t BASKETBALL PROGRAMS PRINTED All four high schools in Duchesne County will have' printed programs for their home games. This service to fans is being made possible by public spirited merchants and individuals who are supporting their schools all the way. . . At . Union the programs are being made possible through the L. and L. Motor Co. and Center Service ,two new car dealers who sell Fords and Pontiacs respectively, in addition to other automotive service they render the public. . . Kohl's Market with Don 'Bench as manager, is the sponsor for Duchesne High. . . At Tabiona it's the P-TA, White's Merc, and Fabrizio and Sons who are making the programs pro-grams possible. . . Up Altamont way four establishments, Mohl-man's Mohl-man's I.G.A, LaFarge's, Altamont Garage and L. and H. Cafe are sponsoring printed programs for their new school. . . Union has had this service the past couple of years, but this is the first time for the' other schools. . . Congratulations to these supporters sup-porters of their school. t THE FACT IS . . .
