Show 1956 ACP Program Announced By Local Chairman Requests can now be accepted for Federal' cost-s'haring under the 1956 Agricultural Conservation Program, by farmers in Duchesne County, states Joseph Wilcken, chairman of the Duchesne County Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Con-servation committee. The basic purpose of the ACP program is to aid in achieving necessary conservation of our soil and water resources. The future prosperity of this nation necessitates necessi-tates the protection and maintenance mainten-ance of our land and water resources. re-sources. Con'servation of these resource's re-source's is urgent. You may request the Federal Government to share the cost if needed to aid you in carrying out eligible practices on your farm. The 1956 program year began Jan. 1, and ertd's Dec. 31, 1956. .Requests and sign-up on ACP practices can be made at any time during the program year; however, " for the equitable' distribution distri-bution of funds the last Friday of each month has been established as a closing date. Immediately after af-ter each date, cost-shares will' be approved for practices to be start- ed prior to the next closing date-Requests date-Requests may be filed with the ACS County office located in the Frandsen Building in Roosevelt. Most practices require technical determinations prior to their approval; ap-proval; therefore, a minimum of 30 days should be provided between be-tween the time of your request and when you plan to start the practice. REMEMBER no federal cost-sharing can be approved unless' un-less' a request is made before starting the work on the practice! |
