Show FFA Names 1956 Committees The Moon Lake Chapter of FFA held a meeting Friday, Jan. 6, at which time they selected the following fol-lowing committee heads: School Farm, Kenneth Ralphs; Stag Party, Ronald Miles; Inter-murals, Inter-murals, Dale Hanberg; Chapter Farm Selection Committee, Dwane Evans; Window Display, Bob Lindsay Lind-say and Ernest Riley, co-chairmen; FFA Assembly, Larry Rartman. These boys will select other FFA members to help them carry out the aims of these committees. Mr. Bentley will take' charge of the Exchange' Board which covers items for sale or rent. The chapter meeting was conducted con-ducted by Pres. Lyle Oman, and all officers were present. Jeanene Evans and tiny Donna RaNae are staying with the Bill Evans family. Mt. Emmons monthly preparation prepara-tion meeting was held in the home of Florence Mohlman Monday Mon-day evening. Bishop Willard .Mecham presided. Pres. Alma Young conducted. "Meet Me at Mutual" night was planned and the ward Gold and Green ball was .set for Feb. 25. Present were Rita Hansen, Diane' Hullinger, Wilson Heaton, LeOna and Doyle Swallow, Swal-low, Joe Wall, Carolyn Dastrup, Gwen Chapman, Anthon Rust, Larry Hartman, Dwane Evans, June "Harmon, Mrs. Leonard Wall and Mrs. Ona Rust. A hig 3000 gallon capacity holding hold-ing tank is being installed in the Altamont cheese factory. The tank, which will be used to hold the ice cream mix, arrived last week. Future Fu-ture plans are to use a tank truck to transport the ice cream mix from the' factory to Arden Sun-freeze Sun-freeze in Ore'm. Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Le-roy Le-roy Thacker was Mrs. Bus Mathews Math-ews from Bonanza. She will be going to Salt Lake Tuesday for a birthday celebration there in honor hon-or of Leroy Thacker. Mr, and Mrs. LaFarge Dastrup traveled to Ogden, Saturday for the Funeral of his aunt, Mrs. James Hackwell, and returned to Altamont that evening. Visitors with Mr. and Mrs. LaFarge La-Farge Dastrup were her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ped'erson of Ephraim, and Mrs. Dastrup's sister sis-ter and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Stout, with their three children. Mr. Stout is a professor pro-fessor at Snow College' in Ephraim. Eph-raim. We of Mt. Emmons miss the presence of Mrs. Anna L. Evans, who is staying with her daughter, Pearl Hardman in Salt Lake for the winter. We wish her enjoyment enjoy-ment during her stay there. Mrs. Dicy Lister is staying with her son, Carl, in Salt Lake during dur-ing heT recovery from surgery. Deon Fisher spent the past week with -her grandparents, Mr, and Mrs. Carl W. Anderson. Deon lives in Salt Lake. HEADS POLIO DRIVE The Polio Drive is being carried' car-ried' on in the' Mt. Emmons area by Mrs. George Rogers, Mrs. Betty Bet-ty Mitchell, Mrs. Vera Holder and Deloris Munson. Everyone is encouraged en-couraged to contribute to this worthy cause. Congratulations to Mr, and Mrs. Max Allred of Boneta on the' birth of their new baby boy, Sunday, Jan. 8. Recovering from the mumps are Jane and Vance. Lambert and Ann Young. The latest victims this week are Roger Mitchell, Joan Wall, Shirley McConkie and Ronnie' Ron-nie' Harmon, and the Grant Hansen Han-sen family. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Case will be returning home to Altamont Saturday, Sat-urday, Jan. 14. ' Mrs. Case is recovering re-covering from a successful operation oper-ation on her eye. We are happy to welcome them back, Mrs. Edward Crosby has been confined to her home for several weeks with the flu, but is feeling feel-ing better now. The Bill Evans attended to business bus-iness in Salt Lake, Saturday, and visited with Sheila and Larry Mitchell while there. Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Lambert spent the weekend in Grand Junction, Colo, with Mrs. Lambert's Lam-bert's cousin, Theron L. Benson and family. Mrs. Barbee Buchanan and little New Year baby, Janet, came home to Altamont, Friday'. Mother and daughter are doing well, and Father Fath-er is carrying on as best he can. Bill Reynolds, who has been staying in Altamont, has left for Maybell, Colo., for his work. STAKE HAS MEETING Moon Lake stake held its monthly Leadership meeting Sunday, Sun-day, Jan. 8, under the' direction of Pres. William Brotherson. Pres. Winkler conducted the" meeting, and prayer was offered by Bishop Mons N. Johansen. Speakers were Claud Murray and LaVe'r Bentley. Stake board members who were released from their positions were: Beth C. Brotherson, speech director direc-tor of the YWMIA; Carma G. Mathews, YWMIA secretary; and Lynn Mitchell, of the YMMIA. Zola Stevenson was sustained as secretary of the YWMIA. Following Follow-ing th opening exercises', the respective res-pective stake boards separated to their various meetings. Speakers at the Sunday' evening Sacrament meeting of the Mt. Emmons Em-mons ward were Mrs. Fern Powell Pow-ell and Doyle Swallow. Dale Cum-mings Cum-mings sangs a vocal solo, "My Friend." The Mt. Emmons ward Sunday School faculty meeting will be held Sunday, Jan. 15, after Sacrament Sacra-ment meeting. All officers and teachers' of the Sunday School should be in attendance. |
