Show John Perry Sends Report To Parents Bishop and Mrs. Ashael A. Perry received a letter from their missionary mis-sionary son, John, that he spent his Christmas holidays at a mission mis-sion conference at Coolangatta, South Port, Queensland, which 1 is not far from Brisbane, Australia. His group traveled six hundred mile's , by train and bus to get there, Three days of the conference confer-ence were spent in meetings pertaining per-taining to missionary work. Saturday Sat-urday of Christmas Eve was the recreational day and the Elders enjoyed playing tennis, ping pong, basketball and swimming in the ocean. The weather was extremenly hot and John stated they all had good sunburns by night. After their Christmas night meeting the group sang Christmas songs on the beach until' midnight, mid-night, however, John stated it didn't seem like Christmas to be celebrating it in such hot weather. He reports that he is enjoying his mission very much and the people of Australia are very receptive re-ceptive to the message of the gospel. gos-pel. Lt. Josephine Lickakuku of the Air Force, stationed in Dayton, Ohio, is home on a three week furlough. She is visiting with her mother, Mrs. Ada Zufelt, and a sister, Mrs. Lois LaRose of Altamont. Alta-mont. Terry Daniels of Oakland, Calif, has been visiting with his parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. John Daniels. Mrs. David Pate reports that Rev. Pate is improving and probably prob-ably will not have to be operated on. Mrs. Pate is working at the' Veterans' Hospital while her hus band is there. Walter Daniels of the Air Force, who has been home on a furlough for two weeks, returned to his base at Kansas City this week. Walter is the son of Albert Daniels, Dan-iels, Sr, The Ft. Duchesne Huskies and the girls team have been invited to play in a basketball tournament at Rangely, Colo. Jan. 12. |
