Show Honors Come To Myton Scouts The Myton Boy' Scouts Troop No. 253, attended the district meeting at Montwel, Sunday afternoon af-ternoon and was awarded the advancement ad-vancement ribbon for the month of December. Fifteen boys were 'present in full uniform. Three Star badges were presented pre-sented to Allen Taylor, Floyd Nielson and Buddy Holgate; First Class badges went to Jerry Kettle, Ket-tle, Merlyn Perry and Bert Denis. Den-is. A total of 41 merit badges were awarded the fifteen boys, among which were five serveying badges, the first to be presented in the Roosevelt district. Mr. and Mrs. P. E. Church were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Massie in Ft. Duchesne, Du-chesne, Friday evening. Visitors, Sunday at the ranch home of Mr. and Mrs. Rollen Duke were Mrs. Kate Cowley and Mrs. Victor Waite of Vernal, mother and sister of Mrs. Duke. P-TA ENTERTAINS FOR RETIRING BOARD MEMBER The Myton Parent-Teacher Association As-sociation entertained at a special meeting Monday evening, to honor W, R. Harris, retiring members of the Duchesne County School Board of this district, and Nathan Allen, the newly elected member of the school board. Aften Rich-ens, Rich-ens, president of the Myton P-TA, was in charge of the meeting. An excellent program furnished entertainment enter-tainment and delicious refreshments refresh-ments were served to the large crowd in attendance. CUBS ENTERTAIN The Myton Cub Scouts' made a trip to Roosevelt last Wednesday Wednes-day night, where they performed for the Roosevelt stake high council coun-cil and auxiliary leaders. They sang their Mexican song and their Den song, all of the youngsters being decked out in their Mexican costumes. Accompanying the Cubs were Den Chiefs Buddy Holgat-3 and Wayne Martin, along with Den Mothers Mrs. Wilmer Murray and Mrs. Charles Martin, and Mrs. Herald L. Crapo, who taught them the Mexican song. Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Murray and son, Darrell, left Wednesday for Davenport, Iowa, for a visit with their son, Elder Dewey Murray, Mur-ray, who has been serving the past 14 months in the Northern States mission. They will leave the family car with Dewey for him to use in his missionary labors. |
